Meet Father John Walsh

In memory of Father John Walsh (1942–2020), a cherished Montreal priest, scholar, and humanitarian. He served the city compassionately, whether in parishes, on the airwaves at CJAD 800, or through his deep involvement with the Hadley Community. A tireless advocate for those experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and addiction, Father John helped shape Hadley’s mission of dignity and inclusion.

Just days before his passing, John’s House opened in his honour, a lasting tribute to his legacy of service and hope. During his funeral procession, mourners lined Seymour Avenue to pay their respects as the cortege passed by John’s House, underscoring his profound impact on the community.
