Thank you

Nazareth Community is a home environment with support for men and women who struggle with mental health issues, homelessness, trauma and addictions. Our residents enjoy celebrations, pet therapy, music, student stagiaires, individual treatment plans and support. This is coordinated by trained, empathetic staff, and assisted by our volunteer Board of Directors.

Nazareth, Anne’s house and John’s House are nondenominational and transgender-friendly. Many of our resident’s β€œhome” before was on the streets, we are a residency to provide safety in times of hardship.

Turning a Shelter into a Home

Located by Cabot Square, we are residences not shelters; every resident has an in-house case worker and services, depend on the needs of the individual; some examples include budgeting, accompaniment, advocacy; yoga classes, haircuts…the range can be from reminding a resident to take their winter coat off in summer to suicide intervention. We have gardens, bees on our roof, daily β€œtea and chat”, cats and dogs onsite, volunteer musicians, relapse and addiction management, we are nondenominational and transgender friendly. We have residents who arrive with only the clothes on their backs. Every resident receives a clean and private space with new bedding, room furniture, clothing and care package all provided – new is imperative; sometimes this will be first new item a person has ever received. Our women’s building is private; location not disclosed, additional services, additional double lock security and camera system to keep the women safe.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you or a loved one needs a safe place to live.
